This study provides a toolkit for improving safety for all people walking, biking, rolling, driving and using transit in Aspen Hill. Examining issues of equity, accessibility, and comfort, the study employs a Vision Zero framework to address critical community safety issues.

The Town of St. Albans sought to create a walking and biking connection across the interstate access road to create a link between the Town Schools and the Collins Perley Recreation Center.

St. Albans Community Planning Survey

Role: Lead – designer, administrator

The Community Planning Survey gathered St. Albans Town resident input to improve communication, increase participation and prioritize land use issues in the Town. The Town utilized results as a foundation for their public participation strategy and incorporated recommendations into the updated Zoning Bylaws and Subdivision Regulations.

 

St. Albans Zoning Bylaws

The Town of St. Albans embarked on a comprehensive rewrite of the Zoning Bylaws and Subdivision Regulations. The Zoning Bylaws were last updated in 2009 and had not been updated to meet the Town Plan goals.  The update sought to integrate these goals, create a clearer, easier-to-read document, and incorporate suggestions from residents.
